ABOUT US

ORIGIN

I grew up in Greece, inside a culture so layered with meaning that you stop noticing it after a while. The mythology becomes background noise, the symbols become wallpaper and the craft becomes something our grandparents used to do.

For centuries Greek clothing was produced slowly, with extraordinary care, carrying identity, region, story and ritual all at once. I founded Tethys in 2024 for everyone who still believes that what we wear can carry that kind of meaning.

THE NAME

Tethys was an ancient sea titan. Daughter of Uranus and Gaia and wife to titan Ocean. Mother of rivers, keeper of the deep.

Not a goddess of storms or spectacle. A goddess of source. The place everything flows from.

THE CRAFT

Every piece of embroidery that leaves this house was stitched by my hands. Me, with a needle and thread, following what was passed down by my grandmothers with care and patience.

The motifs come from endemic Greek flora, from mythology, from dowry embroideries. The pieces women spent years stitching by hand in preparation for a life they were building before it had begun.

I find that world worth returning to.

You grow when you stop shrinking to be understood.
